African Dwarf Clawed Frogs are most active when they are feeding. During daylight hours they tend to hide a lot of the time. However, when they smell food in the water you will understand why they are sometimes described as “water clowns”. They are slow hunters and any fish in the tank will get to the food first. They are great food fighters. If two frogs have the same worm in their mouths you can observe a little “tug of war” in your tank.
Mostly in the evening ADCFs like it to rest on floating water plants with their nostrils protruding out of the water. The frogs are really relaxing.
You can find information about mating behaviour under mating and breeding (still under construction).
